What is Mend it May? 

It’s a positive act of revolution against a fashion system that pushes us to dispose, discard and devalue. #MenditMay is a campaign focused on promoting sustainable fashion and extending the lifespan of clothing through mending and upcycling. It’s a worldwide stitching phenomenon created by UK Sustainable Fashion Week to inspire people to learn and participate in mending activities.

Throughout May I will be spending some time, slowing down and mending things around my home. I will be sharing some fun and creative ways we can repair and re-wear instead of sending more stuff to landfill.  I hope to inspire you to have a go at practicing visible mending techniques such as; embroidery, traditional Japanese sashiko, patchwork, applique and button repair!​​​
