What is Mend it May? 

It’s a positive act of revolution against a fashion system that pushes us to dispose, discard and devalue. #MenditMay is a campaign focused on promoting sustainable fashion and extending the lifespan of clothing through mending and upcycling. It’s a worldwide stitching phenomenon created by UK Sustainable Fashion Week to inspire people to learn and participate in mending activities.

So I'm out mending in public throughout May and I hope you can join me to have a go at practicing visible mending techniques such as;

 

embroidery, sashiko, patch work, applique and button repair!
